Objectives
- To improve public health outcomes through clinical trials and translational research
- To foster supportive development of innovative, high quality collaborative research projects.
- To support researchers to develop, conduct and coordinate research programs in a wide variety of health settings, including those requiring clinical patient sample collection and interdisciplinary collaboration.
Location
We are located in the Harry Perkins Medical Research building in the Fiona Stanley Hospital complex, along with the Australian National Phenome Centre (ANPC) and adjacent to Murdoch University. Being collocated with the largest hospital in the state means CoRE can effectively and efficiently facilitate patient clinical data and sample collection.
The ANPC is the largest and most advanced experimental laboratory in the southern hemisphere and has capacity to process specimens in real time searching for, and analysing, numerous markers of patient health. CoRE and the ANPC are able to work collaboratively on research projects and being in close proximity to the Pawsey Supercomputing Centre, have access to on-demand high speed computational requirements as required.
Consequently we are uniquely placed to support and facilitate researchers requiring real time access to clinical data and laboratory analyses and navigate the complex ethical and governance requirements required to research across insitutional boundaries. This facilitates different approaches to understanding health outcomes and offers rich research opportunities relevant to both individual and population level studies examining health and treatment outcomes.
